The Thor family of Thermal scopes from ATN, have been used for awhile now... ATN has been constantly looking for ways to improve - and the product now is NICE.
This is the, TIWSMT334A from ATN, Thor with 4.5-18x magnification, 60Hz refresh (which allows you to have a smooth image). The sensor is 336x256, and it sends data to a Oled 640x480 screen for you to view the object of your interest. With this device you will be able to Detect (know something is there) a man sized target over 1,500 yards away -- to Identify, you will need to be a little closer (see chart on distances).
