The IR Hunter Mark II, 19mm has a digital magnification of 1.5x, 3x, and 6x, with a resolution of 640x480. This unit also has 60 Hz refresh rate. What also adds to the often repeated word of "WOW" when people look thru this device is the 12 micron sensitivity - the image is simply GREAT.
Like other Hunter units you can use this as a stand alone weapon sight with multiple reticles to choose from, as well as a "clip-on" device to use with your favorite day scope. . They both are hand held thermal devices with fantastic clarity. These are the beginning of the IR Patrol series, and worth considering. These units come with a small rail on top so you can attach an additional device such as a laser so you can point out things to others.
Both of these units are 30 Hz refresh rate and have the Sensor Resolution of 640 x 480 - allowing you to have an "Incredibly Clear View".

As far as menu and operating features:
Polarity: the MaxPol feature allows for 3 levels of white hot, and 3 levels of black hot
E-Zoom: This unit has a digital magnification zoom of 2x, 4x, and 8x (note your resolution decreases as you increase magnification)
Brightness: Yes you can control the brightness
DFC or Digital Focus Control: Lets you soften or sharpen the image. When using this be aware you could increase the noise levels of the image so be careful.
